We all know that changing habits can be a challenge.

But it doesn’t have to be hard.

In this article, I’ll share the top five habits that changed my life and how you can apply them to your life too.

Many people believe that they need to do something drastic in order to change their lives, but this isn’t true. Instead of trying to overhaul everything at once, make small changes over time and watch your life transform before your eyes!

1. Reading Before Bed

Reading before bed is an excellent way to wind down and relax your mind before bed. It can help you get a night of better sleep, and it can also make your dreams more vivid.

It is advised that you read for about 15-20 minutes before bedtime, as this will not only help you fall asleep faster but will also make you feel calmer.

Reading in bed may be tempting, but it might cause neck and shoulder pain, so it’s best to avoid reading in bed if possible.

Reading before bed has many benefits for the body and mind, from helping with insomnia, anxiety, or depression to improving your mood and mental health.



2. Drinking More Water

According to the Mayo Clinic, drinking more water can help you lose weight, feel better, and even live longer.

Many people struggle with drinking enough water. This is often because they are not thirsty or they are not paying attention to how much they drink. Drinking a lot of water also helps with the detoxification of the body.

It’s important to drink enough water so that your body has all the fluids it needs to function properly.



3. Watching Less TV

Watching less TV is becoming a trend for many people. It can be attributed to the fact that there are so many other things to do in this digital age.

The internet provides us with so much content and information that it becomes hard to focus on just one thing at a time.

There are different reasons why people watch less TV nowadays—they might have more things to do, they want to spend more time with their families, or they just don’t enjoy watching TV anymore.

I hope I don’t need to explain the benefits of exercising. The problem is, that we know the benefits and put them off for the next day, next week, or until we feel right.

The right time for exercise will never come unless you start. Simply, you can begin with a walk around the block or with five jumping jacks.



7. Meditate

Meditation is a simple method that, if done correctly, may be performed for as little as 10 minutes every day. Meditation can help you calm your mind and lessen tension and anxiety.

For me, the biggest advantage of meditation was that it protected me from getting distracted from my daily tasks.

Perfection is less important than consistent practice. Counting your breaths is an easy way to start meditating. As you inhale, count “one” in your mind, and then “two” as you exhale. Similarly, continue to count your breaths and restart at “one.”
